LinkedIn keyword alerts and monitoring: get notified of new LinkedIn posts with Claude or ChatGPT, a Trigify alternative (2026)

Prompt template

Every morning, search LinkedIn for new posts that mention keywords. Drop the ones that are not really about them, and send me only the posts I have not seen yet, with the author, their headline, the reactions and the link.

Overview

LinkedIn keyword alerts tell you when a new post mentions your brand, a competitor, or a problem you solve: "looking for a CRM", "we're hiring a data engineer", "anyone using Octolens?". Sales teams use them for buying signals, marketers for brand mentions, founders to find the people who ask for a product like theirs.

LinkedIn itself only tells you when you are tagged. With Reduck, your AI agent runs your keyword searches on LinkedIn in your own Chrome on a schedule, and sends you only the new posts that are about your keywords.

Why it's hard

LinkedIn has no keyword alerts for posts and no API to search them. LinkedIn's own search finds the posts, sorted by latest, but you must run it by hand, every day, for every keyword, and it has no export.

The tools that fill the gap collect LinkedIn on their own accounts and bill by keyword or by mention: KWatch.io gives 1 LinkedIn keyword alert on its $19 plan and none on its free plan, and Octolens starts at $159 a month, billed annually, for 10 keywords. Trigify, used by many sales teams for LinkedIn signals, closes on October 22, 2026.

How Reduck does it

Reduck's LinkedIn scripts run in your own Chrome, through the Reduck extension, where you are signed in to LinkedIn. Each time it checks, your agent runs LinkedIn's content search for each keyword, sorted by newest, and gets each post's text, author, headline, date, reactions, comments and link.

It keeps the posts created since the last check, reads each one, drops those that are not about your keyword, and sends you the rest. If you ask, it reads a post's comments with get_post_comments, or the author's profile with get_profile, to tell you who is talking.

What your agent does

  1. Search LinkedIn posts for each keyword, newest first
  2. Keep only the posts created since the last check
  3. Read each one and drop the posts that are not about your keyword
  4. Send you the matches with the author, their headline, the reactions and the link
  5. On request, read the comments of a post or the profile of its author

FAQ

No. LinkedIn notifies you when someone tags you or your company page, and it can save a search for people or jobs, but it does not alert you when a new post mentions a keyword. Its API has no post search either. That is why every LinkedIn keyword alert tool either runs its own accounts and collects posts all the time, or searches LinkedIn as you. Reduck is the second kind.
It depends on how often you need to know. If a post must reach you within minutes, use a hosted monitor that collects LinkedIn all the time: KWatch.io sends alerts within seconds, and Octolens refreshes every hour on its Pro plan and in real time on higher plans. If a check once or twice a day is enough, and you want your agent to read each post and tell you why it matters, Reduck runs the search in your own LinkedIn, with no subscription per keyword.
Trigify's site says that, for customers on its standard notice period, access ends at 11:59pm BST on October 22, 2026. Its keyword searches on LinkedIn posts can move to a hosted monitor like KWatch.io or Octolens, or to your own agent with Reduck: the same keywords, searched on a schedule, with the matching posts sent to your chat, or to Slack or a sheet if your AI client has that connector.
As often as your agent runs it. Ask for a check in the chat whenever you want one, or set a scheduled task in your AI client if it offers them, for example every morning. Each check sorts LinkedIn's results by newest and keeps the posts created since the last check, by their date, so you get each post once. It is not real time: a post reaches you at the next check.
Posts: their text and their author. LinkedIn's content search lists posts, not comments. For a post you want to follow, get_post_comments reads its comments, newest first if you ask, so your agent can tell you what is new in the thread since the last check.
LinkedIn matches a single word loosely, so a search for your keyword also returns posts that use one of its words in another sense. A plain keyword alert sends you all of them. Your agent reads each result and keeps only the posts that are about your keyword. Put a phrase in quotes for an exact match.
No. There is no app to register and no key to paste. You stay signed in to LinkedIn in Chrome, and the Reduck extension runs each search there. A free LinkedIn account works, within LinkedIn's own monthly limit on searches: when LinkedIn shows that limit instead of results, the check fails and says so.
LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits automated collection, and no tool can promise that LinkedIn will never act on an account. Reduck does not run a crawler: each search runs when your agent asks, one at a time, in your own Chrome. A few searches a day is the volume of a person reading LinkedIn. It only reads; it posts nothing.
