Find an Airbnb near your office, ranked by door-to-door commute time

Prompt template

Find me an Airbnb in city from check-in to check-out for guests, with bedrooms and beds and a kitchen, under budget a night. Search around the address I go to every day, rank the well-rated homes by door-to-door public transport time arriving by time on a weekday, read their lowest-rated reviews for noise, and give me the best ones with the price, the travel time and a Google Maps link to each route.

Overview

You have to be somewhere every morning, at an office, a campus or a client site, and you need a place to stay for a few days or a few weeks. The best stay is not the nearest on the map: it is the one with a short, simple trip to that door, a quiet street, the beds you need and a fair price.

Why it's hard

Airbnb cannot answer that question. Its filters cover price, rooms, beds and amenities, and its map limits the area, but nothing sorts or filters by the time from a home to an address you name. Each home is shown at an approximate location until you book, and Airbnb's filter counts beds without saying what they are.

Google Maps knows the travel time, but for one trip at a time: comparing 30 homes means 30 searches with the same arrival time. And whether a street is quiet is in neither filter: it is in the reviews, often in the low-rated ones and in other languages.

How Reduck does it

Your AI agent searches Airbnb inside a map area around your address, with your dates, guests, rooms and budget, and keeps the well-rated homes. It asks Google Maps for the door-to-door time from each one, arriving by your start time on a weekday of your stay, all at once. It reads the lowest-rated reviews of the fastest homes for noise and other complaints, checks the sleeping arrangement room by room, and ranks what is left.

For a four-night stay near an office in Munich, a search of the city returned 340 homes and a 3 km box around the office returned 32. The commutes of the well-rated ones ran from 10 to 28 minutes, and the reviews left out a home on a busy road, one above a bar and one with a windowless basement bedroom.

What your agent does

  1. Search Airbnb in a map area around your address, with your dates, guests, bedrooms and budget
  2. Keep the homes with a high rating and enough reviews
  3. Get the door-to-door public transport time from each home on Google Maps, arriving by your start time
  4. Read the lowest-rated reviews of the fastest homes, and check the beds room by room
  5. Send you the best stays with the price, the travel time, the lines, why each one fits and a Google Maps link to the route

How to start

  1. Create a free account at reduck.ai.
  2. Install the Reduck extension in Chrome and pair it.
  3. Connect Reduck to your agent: docs.reduck.ai.
  4. Ask: "Find me an Airbnb in {city} from {check-in} to {check-out} for {guests}, with {bedrooms and beds} and a kitchen, under {budget} a night. Search around {the address I go to every day}, rank the well-rated homes by door-to-door public transport time arriving by {time} on a weekday, read their lowest-rated reviews for noise, and give me the best ones with the price, the travel time and a Google Maps link to each route."

How it compares

  • By hand: Airbnb's map in one tab, Google Maps in another, one route per home, and the reviews read one listing at a time. It works for five homes, not for thirty.
  • Airbnb's own map: moving the map limits the search to an area, which is a good start, but a home 2 km away on a direct tram line can be faster than one 1 km away with a change. The map does not show that.
  • Where Reduck is weaker: the route starts from Airbnb's approximate location, so the times are good to a few minutes. The searches run in your Chrome, so a shortlist of thirty homes takes a few minutes, not seconds.

FAQ

No. Airbnb filters by price, rooms, amenities and the area on its map, but not by the time it takes to get from a home to a place you name. Your agent gets that time from Google Maps for each home and ranks them.
Within a few minutes. Airbnb shows each home at an approximate location until you book, a few hundred metres from the real door, so the route starts from that point. The times are good for comparing homes, not to the minute.
Yes. Google Maps directions take driving, public transport, walking or cycling. For driving at a set time, the answer also gives the duration with the expected traffic and the range the trip usually takes.
Yes. It is the time Google Maps gives from the home to the address, with the walk to the stop, the ride, any change of line and the walk to the door. Your agent asks for the routes that arrive by your start time on a weekday of your stay.
It reads each shortlisted home's lowest-rated reviews first, in every language, with Airbnb's English translation, and looks for noise from a street, a bar or the neighbours. A home with recent or repeated complaints is left out, with the reason.
No. Your agent uses the Google Maps and Airbnb pages in your own Chrome, through the Reduck extension, the same pages you would open yourself.
No. It gives you the shortlist with the links. Your agent can open Airbnb's confirm-and-pay page to show the final price and the cancellation policy without booking, and you book yourself.
