Best Reddit automation tools (2026): AI agents, MCP servers, n8n, Zapier, Make and PRAW compared

Prompt template

Every morning, search r/subreddit for posts about topic, read each thread in full, and draft a reply for the three best ones. Post nothing until I approve.

Overview

The best Reddit automation tools in 2026 fall into five groups: AI agents and MCP servers (Reduck, reddit-mcp-buddy), no-code workflows (n8n, Zapier, Make), code (PRAW, Devvit), moderation (AutoModerator), and Reddit marketing tools that find threads, draft replies or schedule posts (Redreach, RankCow, Postpone). This page compares 11 of them for founders, marketers, moderators and developers who want to automate Reddit posting, monitoring, replies or moderation.

Why it's hard

Most of these tools go through Reddit's API, and the API is closing. Reddit asks every builder to request access and get approval before using its data, stopped accepting new public API access requests after October 31, 2026, and ends the remaining public access in March 2027. n8n's and Make's own docs say Reddit now approves new apps by hand, and Make's docs say its Reddit modules are temporarily unpublished. The tools that do not use the API work in other ways: inside Reddit (AutoModerator, Devvit), or in your own browser.

The tools

Reduck

Your own AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or a LangChain or LangGraph agent through MCP) calls Reddit scripts that run in your Chrome, where you are signed in. It searches, reads full threads, drafts replies and posts only what you approve. It is weaker for bulk data: it acts at a person's pace, in your browser.

reddit-mcp-buddy

An open-source MCP server for browsing and searching Reddit. Most of its tools need credentials for an approved Reddit app; writing is off unless you turn it on.

n8n

A workflow builder with a Reddit node for posts and comments, which an AI agent in n8n can use as a tool. It needs a Reddit OAuth2 app.

Zapier

Reddit triggers and actions inside Zaps, and the same actions as MCP tools through mcp.zapier.com. It connects to Reddit through OAuth.

Make

Reddit modules for watching and submitting posts and comments, which Make's docs say are temporarily unpublished.

PRAW

The Python Reddit API Wrapper, for developers who write their own bot. It needs a registered Reddit app.

Devvit

Reddit's developer platform for apps that run inside a community, such as mod tools and interactive posts. Moderators install them.

AutoModerator

Reddit's built-in rule engine for moderators: it checks new posts and comments and acts on them in the subreddit.

Redreach

Finds threads with buying intent and drafts replies that you post yourself. Its FAQ says auto-posting does not work any more.

Postpone

A Reddit post scheduler that notifies you so you post natively. It has a free plan.

RankCow

Finds threads and drafts replies and DMs, and its Autopilot sends them; its Pro plan posts from its own warmed-up accounts.

How Reduck does it

Reduck gives your agent a set of Reddit scripts that run in your own Chrome, through the Reduck extension. There is no Reddit app to register, so the end of new API access does not stop it. You ask in plain words; the agent searches, reads each thread in full, drafts the replies and posts the ones you approve. See How to automate Reddit tasks with an AI agent for the details.

How to start

  1. Create a free account at reduck.ai.
  2. Install the Reduck extension in Chrome and pair it.
  3. Connect Reduck to your agent: docs.reduck.ai.
  4. Ask: "Every morning, search r/SaaS for posts about CRMs, read each thread in full, and draft a reply for the three best ones. Post nothing until I approve."

FAQ

It depends on the job. For an AI agent that reads Reddit and posts as you with no API app, Reduck. For a fixed workflow that joins Reddit to other apps, n8n or Zapier, if you have an approved Reddit app. For your own Python bot, PRAW. For moderation in a subreddit you run, AutoModerator or a Devvit app. For finding threads and drafting replies you post yourself, Redreach. For scheduling posts, Postpone.
Reduck, AutoModerator, Devvit apps, Redreach, Postpone and RankCow do not ask you for a Reddit API app. n8n, Zapier, Make, PRAW and reddit-mcp-buddy (beyond its anonymous RSS mode) connect through Reddit's API, and Reddit stopped accepting new public API access requests after October 31, 2026.
Reduck and reddit-mcp-buddy are MCP servers for Reddit. Zapier exposes its Reddit actions as MCP tools through mcp.zapier.com. Redreach and Postpone also offer an MCP server, for their own features.
n8n, Zapier, Make and PRAW post through the API, as your workflow or code says. RankCow's Autopilot sends comments and DMs, and its Pro plan uses its own aged accounts. With Redreach and Postpone, you post yourself. Reduck posts only what you approve, from your own account, in your own Chrome.
Yes. AutoModerator applies the rules moderators write to new posts and comments, and Devvit apps add mod tools inside a subreddit; both are for moderators of that subreddit. n8n's Reddit node can also remove comments, through the API.
Reddit bans spam, not tools. Repeated or unsolicited actions, automated or manual, are spam under Reddit's rules. Keep a person in the loop, post at a person's pace and follow each subreddit's rules. See [Reddit bot rules for AI agents](https://reduck.ai/use-cases/reddit-bot-rules-ai-agents).
