X (Twitter) brand monitoring: track mentions and what customers say about your brand, with Claude or ChatGPT (2026)

Prompt template

Find the X posts from the past period that mention my brand or competitors, including replies and quote posts. Read them, tell me what customers say about each brand, sort the mentions into praise, complaints, questions and comparisons, and give me the links.

Overview

X (Twitter) brand monitoring for founders and marketers: your AI agent finds the posts, replies and quote posts that mention your brand and your competitors, reads them, and tells you what customers say, good and bad, with a link to every source. It works from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client, with no X API.

X is where customers react first: to a launch, a price change, an outage. Most of them never tag your account, so your notifications show only part of it.

Why it's hard

The cheap ways to watch X are gone. TweetDeck became X Pro and moved behind a paid X subscription, and the X API bills every post read. X has no keyword alerts of its own: a saved search is a list you have to open.

Reading is the long part. The opinion is in the replies and the quote posts, next to bots, jokes and posts that only share a word with your brand. Doing it by hand every week, for your brand and three competitors, is the part that slips.

How Reduck does it

Reduck's X scripts run in your own Chrome, through the Reduck extension, where you are signed in to X. Your agent searches the Latest tab for your brand, your handle, its misspellings and your competitors, with X's own search operators, and reads the mentions that tag you.

It drops the posts that are not about your brand, opens the posts that drew a reaction, and reads their replies and quote posts. Then it reports: how often each brand came up, the praise, the complaints, the questions and the comparisons, each with a quote and a link. Run it every morning or every week to see what changes.

What your agent does

  1. Search X for your brand, its variants and your competitors, newest first
  2. Read the mentions that tag your account
  3. Drop the posts that are not about the brand
  4. Read the replies and quote posts under the posts that matter
  5. Sort the mentions into praise, complaints, questions and comparisons, with a quote for each
  6. Report per brand, with links, and compare with the last report if you keep it

FAQ

Search X for your brand name, your handle, its misspellings and your competitors' names, on the Latest tab, then read the replies and quote posts under the posts that matter. With Reduck, your AI agent does this in your own Chrome, where you are signed in to X: it runs the searches, reads the conversations, and reports what people say, with links.
Yes, that is what the search is for. Your notifications show only the posts that tag your handle; get_mentions reads that tab. search_tweets finds the posts that name your brand without tagging you, with every X search operator (exact phrases, OR, -from:, lang:, since:, min_faves:). In a test on October 14, 2026, one Latest search for Cursor with the words bug, broken, love, pricing or switched returned 30 posts from the previous 12 hours, most of them customers reacting to a pricing change.
Yes. The candid opinions are often there. get_tweet reads a post's replies, sorted by relevance, newest or most liked, and get_quote_tweets reads the posts that quoted it with their own comment. In the same test, on Cursor's pricing announcement, your agent read the 60 most liked replies and 40 quote posts in two calls.
Yes. Your agent reads each post in context, so it can tell a complaint from a recommendation, or a question from a comparison, and it quotes the line it based each verdict on. X is full of sarcasm and jokes: read the quotes before you act on a verdict.
Then a bare search is mostly noise. In our test, a Latest search for Notion with complaint words returned 40 posts, nearly all about the word 'notion', not the app. Search for your handle, your domain, your product's full name in quotes, and exclude the words that cause the noise (-word).
No. Reduck does not watch X on its own: it runs when your agent runs, or when a scheduled task in your agent runs it. Each search returns up to 100 posts, and the Top tab is a sample X ranks, not every post. If you need an alert within minutes of a post, a hosted monitor that collects X all the time is the better fit.
They are hosted services that collect X all the time and send alerts. Octolens's own page lists $199 a month for its Pro plan ($159 billed annually), with hourly refresh, a 7-day backfill per keyword and an MCP server; Prowlo's own page lists $19 a month for X and Reddit with hourly checks. Brand24's limits are not documented here. Reduck does not collect in the background; in return, your agent reads whole conversations, writes the report in the chat where you work, and costs no X API credits.
No. There is no app to create, no key to paste and no credits to buy. The X API bills each post read. With Reduck, you stay signed in to X in your own Chrome, and the Reduck extension runs each script there.
X's rules restrict automation and unauthorized collection, and no tool can promise that X will never act on an account. Reduck does not run a bot on its own: each script runs only when you or your agent asks, one at a time, in your own browser. Keep the volume and the pace of a person reading X. These scripts only read; they post nothing.
