Read and summarize X (Twitter) articles with Claude or ChatGPT (2026)

Prompt template

Read this X article and give me a 5-point summary, the main claims, and every link it cites: article_url

Overview

Someone shares a long X Article and you want the gist, the claims or a quote. You paste the link into Claude or ChatGPT, and it cannot open it: it asks you to paste the text, or it answers from what others wrote about the article.

Why it's hard

X loads its pages with JavaScript and often puts them behind a login. An assistant opens a link with a simple fetcher, so it gets an empty page or a sign-in screen instead of the article. The workarounds are to copy the text by hand, use a web viewer, or pay for the X API.

How Reduck does it

Reduck opens the article in a real browser, your own signed-in Chrome or a Reduck managed browser, and hands your agent the article itself: title, author, date, the full text, and the body in reading order with its headings, lists, quotes and links. The agent then does what you asked: a summary, the key claims, a translation, a Markdown copy.

We tested it on October 12, 2026, on Satya Nadella's Article "The Infinite SaaS Factory" (published October 8, 2026):

Signed in to X No X account
Title, author, date Yes Yes
Full text 21 paragraphs 21 paragraphs
Links inside the text 3 3
Views, likes, reposts 832,533 views, 2,729 likes Empty

What your agent does

  1. Reads the article with get_article from the link you paste.
  2. Summarizes it, lists its claims, or answers your questions about it.
  3. Quotes it exactly, with the links it cites.
  4. Saves it as Markdown if you ask.

Who it's for

  • Anyone who gets X Articles in their feed and wants the gist in the chat
  • Researchers and analysts who quote or archive long posts
  • Founders and marketers who follow what leaders publish on X

FAQ

When you paste a link, the assistant opens it with a simple page fetcher. X builds its pages with JavaScript and often asks visitors to sign in, so the fetcher gets an empty page or a login screen, and the assistant answers from what others wrote about the article, or asks you to paste the text. Reduck opens the article in a real browser and hands the agent the article itself.
Not for links of the form x.com/<handle>/article/<id>. We read the same article twice on October 12, 2026: once in a Chrome signed in to X, once in a Reduck managed browser with no X account. Both returned the full text. Signed out, X shows no counts, so the views, likes and reposts come back empty. Links of the form x.com/i/article/<id> open only for a signed-in account.
The title, the author, the publish date, the cover image, the full text as plain text, and the body in reading order, one entry per paragraph, heading, list item, quote or embed, with the links inside each paragraph. Signed in, it also gets the views, likes, reposts, replies, quotes and bookmarks.
The script returns the text and the structure; your agent writes the file. Markdown is the natural format, because headings, lists and links are kept. For a PDF, ask the agent to make one from that Markdown.
This page covers X Articles, the long-form posts with a title. A thread is a chain of ordinary posts: the get_tweet script reads a post with the conversation around it.
A viewer website shows a public post to a person, in another tab. Reduck is a tool your agent calls, in the chat where you already work, so the summary, the quotes and the follow-up questions come with the article.
Yes. Reduck is an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and any other MCP client can call get_article. Paste the link and ask for what you need.
