Search Reddit
Search posts across all of Reddit (no subreddit restriction), with optional sort and time window. Returns count and threads (each with id, url, title, author, subreddit, score, num_comments, created, nsfw, preview_text). `limit` is a maximum: fewer matching posts than requested returns however many exist. Useful to discover which subreddits discuss a topic. The sort changes how relevant the results are: `top` orders Reddit's matches by score, and because Reddit matches loosely, a heavily upvoted post only tangentially related to the query can outrank the genuine matches. That is Reddit's own ranking, returned as-is. Use the default `relevance` sort when on-topic results matter, and treat a non-zero count under `top` as "Reddit returned something", not as proof the posts are about the topic. Reddit refuses connections from datacenter addresses, so this works as-is on your own browser; on a hosted cloud browser the session has to be given a country so it exits through a residential address, otherwise Reddit blocks it and the script says so.
Reddit login (emailed one-time link via Gmail)
Sign in to Reddit without a password: requests Reddit's emailed one-time login link for the given address, opens it from that address's Gmail inbox in the same browser, and lands signed in. Returns straight away if already signed in, and reports the Reddit username. The Gmail account for that address must be signed in on this browser.
Get trending Reddit posts
List Reddit's trending threads from the r/popular (or r/all) feed, with optional sort. Returns url, title, subreddit, author, score, comment count, date and displayed text per thread.
Who am I on Reddit
Report which Reddit account the browser is signed in as: the username (the u/ handle every other Reddit script takes as an argument) and the profile display name, which a redditor can set to something different. Throws when signed out. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Post Reddit comment
Post a top-level comment on a Reddit post by its URL. Returns the created comment's id, permalink, author, created timestamp and score. Posts a real comment under the logged-in account; this is a top-level comment on the post, not a reply to another comment. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Edit Reddit post
Edit the body of your own Reddit text post by its URL, replacing it entirely. Returns edited and postId. Text posts only (the title can't be edited on Reddit); only works on your own posts. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Send Reddit DM
Send a Reddit direct message to a user. Returns sent and recipient. A subject is required by Reddit but won't appear in the conversation. Fails for recipients who don't accept DMs. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Follow Reddit user
Follow a Reddit user by username. If you already follow them, nothing changes and changed is returned as false. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Get Reddit home feed
Get the signed-in account's own Reddit home feed (reddit.com/?feed=home) — its mix of subscribed communities and Reddit's recommendations, in the order the feed serves them, promoted slots included. Not r/popular: use get_trending for the cross-Reddit trending feed. Returns per item id, url, title, subreddit, author, created, score, num_comments, upvote_ratio, post_type, content_href, body, plus is_subscribed (the post comes from a community you joined, as opposed to a recommendation) and is_promoted (an ad slot). An ad carries no subreddit, since it is posted from a user profile rather than a community. sort takes the feed's own five orders; time is Reddit's window on the top sort. count is a maximum — a feed that stops loading returns what it served.
Submit Reddit post
Create a text post (thread) in a subreddit. Returns the new post's ID, subreddit and URL. Posts a real thread under the logged-in account; text posts only (no link/image); some subreddits require a flair and will block the post. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Get Reddit thread
Fetch a full Reddit thread from its URL. Returns title, op_text, score, num_comments, and comments (author, body, score, nesting depth). Compare num_comments to total_comments to detect truncation; use all_comments to expand every "more replies" thread automatically.
Vote on Reddit post or comment
Up, down, or clear your vote on a Reddit post or comment by its URL/permalink. Safe to repeat: it only changes the vote if it isn't already in the requested state. You cannot downvote or clear the vote on your own post, since Reddit forces the author's upvote and the change reverts on reload. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Reply to Reddit comment
Reply to a Reddit comment at any nesting depth, by its permalink. Returns the new reply's id, permalink, author and depth. Posts a real, public reply under the logged-in account. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Unsave Reddit post
Remove a Reddit post from your saved list by its URL. If it wasn't saved, nothing changes and changed is returned as false. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Unfollow Reddit user
Unfollow a Reddit user by username. If you're not following them, nothing changes and changed is returned as false. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Get subreddit threads
List a subreddit's threads by Reddit's native sort (best/hot/new/top/rising). "new" is chronological (filter with `since`); "top" takes a `time` window (hour…all); others paginate by `limit`. Returns url, title, author, score, num_comments, created, post_type, and body — the post's full text (never truncated; null for link/image posts). `limit` is a maximum, not a guarantee: fewer matching threads returns what exists.
Get Reddit user comments
Fetch a Reddit user's recent comments from their profile Comments tab (with or without u/ prefix). Returns subreddit, post title/url, comment body/permalink, score, timestamp, and stickied flag. Scrolls to load more when limit exceeds one page.
Save Reddit post
Save a Reddit post to your saved list by its URL. If it's already saved, nothing changes and changed is returned as false. Saving is private (visible only in your own saved list). Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Get Reddit user profile
Fetch a Reddit user's profile by their username (with or without the u/ prefix). Returns username, display_name, description, karma, contributions, reddit_age, and recent posts and comments (type, title, text, subreddit, score, created, url).
Delete Reddit post
Delete your own Reddit post by its URL. Returns deleted and postId. This is irreversible and only works on your own posts. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Search a subreddit
Search posts within a single subreddit, with optional sort, time window, and date cutoff. Returns subreddit, count, and threads (each with id, url, title, author, score, num_comments, created, subreddit, nsfw, preview_text). `limit` is a maximum, not a guarantee: a search with fewer matches returns what exists. With `sort=new`, pass `since` (an ISO date or shorthand like "7d") to filter out results older than that cutoff — useful for searching a subreddit for recent activity by date rather than by relevance/rank. When a query has no genuine matches, Reddit's own search sometimes silently returns a small number of loosely-related posts from the subreddit instead of an empty result, with no way to tell them apart from real hits — a non-zero count doesn't guarantee relevance. Reddit's subreddit-scoped search cards show titles only, with no body excerpt, so preview_text is null here on every sort; that is the surface, not a limitation of the script. To get per-subreddit results that include body excerpts, use reddit.com/search_reddit with a `subreddit:name` term in the query. Reddit caps each page at 100 results, so paginate with the after cursor to go beyond that.
Search Reddit threads across several subreddits with a list of queries
Run several search queries across one or more subreddits in a single pass and get back the matching threads, deduplicated across queries and subreddits: title, subreddit, permalink, upvotes, comment count, creation date, flair, and the opening of the post body. Each thread also lists which of your queries matched it, and results are ordered by how many queries matched, then by upvotes. Sort and time window are configurable, and any query that a subreddit refuses is reported separately instead of failing the whole run.
Capture a page as a PNG
Screenshot any URL (not limited to Reddit) at a pinned viewport width and pixel density, and save it to the machine's Downloads folder as a real browser download. Runs signed in when the target host has a session, so Reddit captures have no cookie banner and no logged-out login panel. fullPage:true captures the whole scrollable page for assets that need scrolling; pass clipHeight to bound a very long page. Returns the filename, size in bytes, image width and height, and the page title. Confirmed on reddit.com: capturing while signed OUT triggers Reddit's bot detection (tab gets detached non-deterministically); once the device is actually logged into Reddit, both fullPage and viewport-only captures are clean.
Delete Reddit comment
Delete your own Reddit comment (at any depth) by its permalink. Returns deleted and commentId. This is irreversible, only works on your own comments, and replies to it remain visible under [deleted]. Runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
Crosspost a Reddit post
Crosspost (Reddit's "Repost") an existing post into another subreddit, keeping the link back to the original. Takes the source post URL and a target subreddit; optionally overrides the title (defaults to the source title). Returns the new crosspost's fullname (t3_), target subreddit and URL. This creates a real, public crosspost: many communities disable reposting, and the script fails loudly if the target does; some also require a flair that blocks the post. It needs a Reddit account already signed in in the browser, and runs only via the browser extension, not the hosted cloud browser.
