create_channel

Create a channel in a Discord server — text, voice, announcement, stage or forum — optionally inside a category. Requires the Manage Channels permission in that server. Returns the new channel's channelId, name, type, url, parentId and guildId. If a channel with the same name and type already exists in that category, it is reported with already_present instead of creating a duplicate. Discord lowercases and hyphenates text and forum channel names, so the returned name may differ from the one you passed.

Input

name required

Channel name. Discord lowercases it and replaces spaces with hyphens for text and forum channels; voice and stage names keep their casing.

guildId required

Server id, e.g. from discord.com/list_servers.

type optional

Channel type to create. 'forum' creates a posts-only channel (list its posts with discord.com/list_forum_posts). announcement and stage require Community to be enabled on the server.

Default: "text"
categoryId optional

Optional category (parent) id to create the channel inside, e.g. from the categories array of discord.com/list_channels. Omit to create it outside any category.

Output

name required
type required
guildId required
channelId required
already_present required
url optional
parentId optional
typeCode optional
verified_on_page optional

Whether the new channel was confirmed visible in the server's channel list after creation.
